Downtown Programming

Downtown Gloversville has programming that goes beyond events. The Downtown Development Specialist office works with the community and business owners to help make a positive, lasting change in downtown. Below are a few of the programs on offer in 2019.

Downtown Ambassador Program

We are currently exploring the creation of a Downtown Ambassador program similar to the Schenectady Ambassadors. We are seeking community members, downtown organizations and businesses who would like to sit on the exploratory committee.

If you are interested in learning more about the Downtown Ambassador Program or how you can become involved, please call or email our Downtown Development Specialist, Jennifer Jennings. She may be reached at 518.725.7700 ext. 1004 or jenniferj@fccrg.org.

Downtown Business Assistance

In 2019, the DDS office will be launching an information, education and mentorship program to work with local businesses. The first step in the process is a SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for Strengths – Weaknesses – Opportunities – Threats and is a collaborative process that takes place through a facilitated meeting and exchange of ideas. A survey on business needs and areas of opportunity and learning will be conducted as a result of the SWOT discussions.

The SWOT is scheduled for Wednesday, February 20th at 6 p.m. Please RSVP to Jennifer Jennings by February 13th.

Would you like to participate in the SWOT analysis discussion?
If so, please contact the Downtown Development Specialist, Jennifer Jennings, at 518.725.7700 ext. 1004 or jenniferj@fccrg.org. We will also be sending out a postcard to businesses within the DDS service area in late January.
