2018 saw community members come together with economic development professionals for a first-ever placemaking conference in downtown Gloversville. Placemaking 101 was a two-day experience for attendees and set the stage for positive actions not only in Gloversville, but in Fulton County. We will once again be hosting a placemaking conference April 29 & 30, 2020. Placemaking 2020 will feature two days of amazing speakers – and our Placemaking in Gloversville Dinner on April 29th.
Join us April 29, 2020 for a Placemaking Dinner, a celebration of placemaking in downtown Gloversville and across the area.
This dinner is just one piece of our Placemaking Week which will include Placemaking 2020 and 100in1 Day. Speaker Andrew Manshel will be presenting on his experiences in the revitalization of Bryant Park in New York City and his forthcoming book on placemaking, in which Gloversville serves as a case study.
The evening will also feature our Placemaker in Gloversville award. This award is given to a business, individual or organization who works diligently to make Gloversville a warm, welcoming and active place. In 2019, the awardee was Michael Medina from Fulton County Barber Shop. Stay tuned to see who is announced as the 2020 award winner.
