Call for planning committee members
There are wonderful things happening in downtown Gloversville and 2019 is turning out to be a love letter to our City!
2019 is going to be a pivotal year in the revitalization of downtown Gloversville, one that will require all of us to chip in to make positive, lasting change in the community and set us up for a successful future. We are currently looking for committee members to help organize this year’s Bacon Jam. Bacon Jam is downtown Gloversville’s annual bacon, bands and beer festival. Now in its third year, the event welcomes nearly 4,000 people downtown for a celebration of and for Gloversville. Food vendors feature bacon-centric food, local bands play on the state and area brewers are featured in our beer garden. We are looking for your help to make it a success.
Bacon Jam will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
9 Elm Street, Gloversville
Farmers Market Pavilion
We are currently looking for individual volunteers, community groups, businesses and local residents to join us. Our planning committee is an important piece to the event’s success and we are looking for excited, engaged individuals to help in the process.
Would you like to help us plan this year’s Bacon Jam?
We are looking for enthusiastic community members to help us plan and execute this event. You could be a business owner, someone who works downtown or anyone in the community who is looking to help us make a positive, lasting impact on our city.
What is required for committee members?
In-person meetings will be held once per month starting in July and will conclude in September. Some email communication may be necessary thereafter. We may ask that you help contact possible event sponsors, community groups, vendors, etc. to help fill-in programming for the day. We don’t expect participation to require more than two or three hours per month in total.
Are you required to work at the event?
Absolutely not – but we won’t say no if you want to! We will have a general call for volunteers as the date comes closer.
Please contact Jennifer Jennings, Gloversville Downtown Development Specialist if you would like to help plan the event or would like to become a business sponsor. She may be reached at email@example.com or at 518.725.7700 ext. 1004.
